Colloquial wisdom says that when an animal such as a dog or snake becomes cornered, it will attack, the idea being that when you remove options for it to escape, the only remaining action is aggression. While this may be more of an idiom than a fact, it does have at least one Biblical example: Satan; and when he gets cornered, he doesn’t go down without a fight.
