He said this not because they really couldn’t fail, but acknowledging that they actually might, absent of outside intervention. Well, in the ancient world Babylon itself was considered “too big to fail,” but it was believed that Babylon simply could not fail. And from a human engineering standpoint, it couldn’t! It was a city designed to be impenetrable against all foes. But nothing is impossible with God, as Babylon came to discover.
