I’m always shocked when I meet Christians who argue against the importance of reading and knowing Scripture. I just met another one last week, in fact! He told me proudly how he learned about God from Scripture then warned me that Scripture isn’t the best way to know God. And that made sense to him. All week on Something’s Happening Here, we’ve been asking “How Can You Know the Real God?” and looking at real-world examples of how knowing Him is important. Today we’re tackling the issue head-on: the central importance of the Bible to a believer’s knowledge of and relationship with Jesus Christ. Are you ready? Because if Scripture is the best way to know Christ, and most believer’s don’t study Scripture (and most really don’t), then who is the god they think they know?
